Langtang lies to the north of the Kathmandu Valley, just south of the Tibetan border,
earning it the nickname “the valley of glaciers.” The landscape boasts stunning
mountain views, with trekking routes well-equipped with teahouses for convenience.
The primary ethnic groups inhabiting Langtang are the Sherpa and Tamang, whose
cultural practices, languages, and attire bear resemblance to those of Tibet. The
region’s forests host temperate and sub-alpine vegetation, while its wildlife includes
migratory birds, deer, monkeys, Thar, and Pika. The scenery is breathtaking, offering a
more adventurous trekking experience.
